Charming stay with delightful meals

Our time at the Malt House Hotel was delightful, with attentive service and a hearty breakfast that set us up for exploration. Being close to Berkeley Castle made our sightseeing easy and enjoyable.

I stayed for four nights while visiting nearby relatives and found the location quite convenient. The room was large and comfortable, featuring everything I needed, including a fan in the closet and a great water temperature. Breakfast was fresh and tasty each morning, and I enjoyed chilling out in the bar area after my day. the shower head in my room could definitely use more pressure, making it a bit frustrating at times.

Shower pressure in room 4 is far too weak, making showers a frustrating affair!!! The dated decor overall reduces the charm rather than enhancing it!!! Attention to detail such as lacking USB ports and proper toilet paper is needed!!!

Absolutely loved my stay! ! So warm and welcoming, such a delightful pub atmosphere.

The homemade breakfast options, particularly the freshly prepared meals and ample choices, were consistently delightful.

The shower pressure in the room was disappointing, making it less enjoyable to use during my stay.

the malt house is so old and tired, even the showerhead in my room was a total disaster! the pressure was just pathetic. i expected premium treatment, but instead got basic maintenance issues. also, i almost gave a good review, but where was my complimentary drink on arrival? must've overlooked my importance, i suppose.

The bar area was lovely with plenty of drink options. The beautiful rustic features in our room added charm. We enjoyed a cozy atmosphere near the canal. Had a wonderful time exploring with easy access to the local shops.

The spacious double room featured beautiful rustic elements, enhancing the overall charm. A delightful breakfast included perfectly cooked poached eggs and ample options, all served by attentive staff who struck the right balance between friendly and professional. While parking was convenient, the relatively old property did have some areas needing improvement, such as soundproofing between rooms. this experience was pleasant, making it a strong contender for future visits.

We spent one night here, and the staff was super friendly! The room was bright & comfy, and we loved the bar area with a fab drink selection. The only thing was the bathroom could use some soundproofing. it was a bit loud at times. a fun stay!

The staff delivered exceptional service, particularly the manager, who graciously provided helpful meal suggestions. The bed was comfortable, allowing for a restful night, and the hotel has plenty of parking space, making it convenient for exploring nearby attractions. I appreciated the email with the dinner menu in advance, which helped us plan our Slimming World-friendly meals for the evening.

The bathroom could benefit from better soundproofing, as it was somewhat noisy at times.
